Artist: Vougeot & Dave Pickell

Vougeot (pronounced voo-ZHOH) and her Canadian writing partner Dave Pickell are the top winners in the 7th Annual Great American Song Contest.

Described by the contest judges as "emotionally powerful and superbly crafted," their song "Let It Burn" swept all nine categories to take the Grand Prize.

In addition to her music, Vougeot loves animals and often performs in support of programs that help promote the well-being and humane treatment of animals.

"Animals have so much to teach us," she says. "When we open our hearts to show them kindness and respect, it shows how spiritually far we've come."
