Artist: Brett Perkins
The Pop category winner of the 10th Annual Great American Song is Brett Perkins, a Southern California native who now lives in Sweden.His winning song, "When You Gonna Figure It Out," won enthusiastic reviews from contest judges who praised the song's memorable title, inventive rhyming and impressively engaging melodic structure.
Brett says his musical roots were honed in the early 80's L.A. club scene, as the lead singer/songwriter of power pop band 'The Sneaks.' Later Brett turned his attention to writing and performing his own original acoustic music.
In addition to writing and performing his own music, Brett is part of a larger community of songwriters, and helps organize annual Listening Room Retreats & Concerts.
