Artist: Debbie Zepick

The First Place winner in the Christian/ Gospel category of the 7th Annual Great American Song Contest lives in Ponoka, a small community in Alberta Canada.

Her band is composed her husband, Dean, on bass, her two sons Aaron and Daniel on acoustic guitar and fiddle. Jonathan Scrivens plays percussion and drums.

Debbie thinks of herself as a poet and in the tradition of the Celts and speaks entusiastically about her songwriting.

"My melodies take their influence from generations of Irish and Scottish songwriters," she says. "The lyrics deal with the real stuff of life — fear, loss, joy and triumph.
